Rates are calculated based on a line of 55 characters, including spaces, in the target document. Counts are carried out electronically. For Word documents, the count is displayed under ‘Tools’ – ‘Word Count’.

The rate per line can vary widely depending on the complexity and format of the text, and is agreed per individual order. The following should however serve as a guideline:

Using the word count as a basis of calculation has become increasingly common. Again, complexity and specialization define the benchmark on which the price per word is determined. A guideline here is 13 to 15 euro-cents per word.
